Thank you!
True.
I’ve had NY EZ Pass since 1998, before NJ even had EZ Pass. But the last 3 years, I have been fined many times for toll evasion in NJ, even though my NY EZPass tag was current. It seems that there is some kind of communication glitch and the 2 systems don’t always get the messages between them. I recently switched to NJ.
Just make sure to keep the other E-ZPass in the foil bag when not in use, so you don’t get double charged.
Great info. Thanks for sharing!
I would assume same for commuters to Pennsylvania?
Wow thank you for this
And to avoid the $1 a month port authority fee you need to make sure you don’t get a port authority issued tag – either give a Brooklyn address on sign up or add a NY commuter type of plan (besides for the standard plan)ex. Thruway. And very important don’t put a port authority commuter plan until after you open the account. Afterwards addresses and plans can be changed. Or go to a ny retailer issuing mta or thruway tags. Once an account is opened you can make any changes.
