  1. this is where TLS can be useful.please do some research and post the local school closings.
I know that wouldn’t be sensational, but it would be helpful

  2. Whats the peshat of so much snow?: I was thinking a gevaldiga zach “Rashi (Bereishis) tells us that Hashem saw that the world could not stand on Din, strict judgment, alone and therefore He combined Chessed, kindness, and created the world with the composite of Rachamim, mercy. Hashem thus brought together opposite components (Din and Chessed) in order to allow the world to exist. Our job as well is to combine opposite elements and to make peace. We have a physical body and a spiritual soul. Our mission is to utilize them effectively together and to elevate the body.

  3. the mayer of our town is so special he is the best mayer ever we had there is NOT ONE STREET UNPLOWED SO TO MR. MAYER FROM ALL THE PEOLPLE IN THE TOWN I WANNA SAY THANK U MAY THERE JUST BE MORE PEOLE LIKE U IN THE WORLD

  4. Elmwood village is not plowed and I am sure there are many more not plowed. Why does it always take so long for you guys to come? The garbage truck came and left because it wasn’t plowed…

  5. Just because your street was plowed don’t say they did a great job. I wasn’t plowed and neither were plenty of more places. Still waiting-down the 9…

  6. There will always be a street that will be last, same way theres always someone who will be last to board an airplane or on a line at the bank. I think all in all the town has seen tremendous improvement with the plowing situation when compared to last year.

  7. #8 That is SO not true, there have been MANY TIMES that the public schools were closed BUT we still had to transport other schools in and around Lakewood. AND BTW, when the board says there is a delay it means JUST that but the schools tell the parents there isn’t any bussing which AGAIN is not true, I’m out there doing my run but I don’t pick up any children, so you would rather complain about the busses how about the schools that are putting you and your children at risk before it is safe to be on the roads.

  8. Brookhill is still not plowed. It’s one big sheet of ice , it’s pretty dangerous to walk or drive here. We need massive amounts of salt . On another note there is also lots of huge potholes in the area.

  9. I REALLY FEEL THAT SCHOOL ON SNOWDAYS SHOULD NOT BE MANDATORY BUT VOLUNTARY. IT IS A TREMENDOUS TIRCHE (AND CAUSING ALOT OF BITUL TOREH AND STRESS TOO) TO CHAUFFEUR CHILDREN TO ALL DIFFERENT SCHOOLS SPECIALLY WITH BAD ROAD CONDITIONS AND RESULTING HEAVY TRAFFIC!. THAT’S WHY I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE SCHOOL SO THAT PARENTS THAT CAN GET THEIR KIDS TO SCHOOL EASILY, OR THAT MUST GO TO WORK AND HAVE NO BABYSITTER ETC. CAN TAKE THEIR KIDS TO SCHOOL HOWEVER THAT PARENTS WHO DON,T HAVE A WAY OF TRANSPORTATION, LIVE FAR ETC. DO NOT HAVE TO BE FORCED TO TAKE THEIR KIDS TO SCHOOL AND DRIVE THEMSELVES CRAZY HOW TO GET THEM THERE.- EXTRA CURRICULAR WORK SHOULD BE DONE ON THOSE DAYS SO THE KIDS THAT MISSED IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TO MAKE UP THEIR WORK!!

  10. If the concern is missing lessons, then why don’t the schools send home extra work the day before in the event the schools are closed or there is no busing. It isn’t like we wake up in morning to a surprise of a snow storm!

  11. To #1…why should the tls have to worry about informing you of school closings? Don’t all schools have their own websites? Let parents do something for themselves, instead of others always doing the work for them.

  12. #20–What is the educational value of having school just so the district can babysit your children? If schools are closed, it is because it is unsafe for the children to be in the bus. While some board members would have you believe the superintendent only closes or delays because of other districts, she takes many things into consideration….first and foremost is the safety of the children.

For all the complaining against the public schools being a “failing district”, you are showing the true intentions of yourself and some, not all, of the neighborhood.
