Stolen Lakewood Car Found by Sheriff in Toms River; Driver Arrested

Stolen vehicleA car stolen from Lakewood last week was recovered, and the driver caught in the vehicle was arrested, sources tell TLS. The Hyundai was stolen from Second Street last week just a few feet from the owner.

On Friday, a Sheriff’s Officer spotted the stolen vehicle being driven by a Hispanic male in Toms River, and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was taken into custody.

The owner of the vehicle was notified by Toms River Police just before Shabbos. [TLS]

  1. It was not found by the Sheriffs Office, it was found by the Island Heights Police Department who made the stop. The Sheriffs Office Communications Division dispatches the Island Heights Police and maybe that’s where the confusion came in. The Sheriffs Communications Division notified the owner.
