MML: Many Drivers Have Quit [UPDATED]

This message was just received by many local residents, though they don’t know what MML is, as it’s not from their kids’ school.

TLS also reached out to bus companies for clarification.

UPDATE: It’s Machon Matel Leah, however, it appears to have been sent out in error to random parents who don’t have children in that school. The message itself, though, appears to be legitimate.

The school also sent out the following update:

“MML: B”H busses 4,6 and 9 have showed up. All girls on those routes will have homebound transportation.”

After Bus Drivers Quit Their Jobs, Students Quit School
After a Lakewood NJ, school announced that the usual busing for school dismissal will not be available today due to several bus drivers quitting their jobs, dozens of the school’s students announced that they were following in the bus drivers’ footsteps, and that they were quitting school.
“It’s difficult enough staying in school during normal school hours,” said 10-year-old student, Alex Fedupp, “are we now supposed to camp out in the school forever waiting for someone to take us home? I’m sorry, but if the bus drivers are quitting, we’re quitting too.”
“Hope to see you all at summer camp,” he added, “bye! Have a nice winter!”
As of 12:20 PM, the aforementioned students oragnized a GoFundMe page, hoping to raise enough money to pay some Uber drivers to take them home.
“My father is in yeshiva and my mother is baking challas right now,” said one student, “I don’t want to bother them. I’m hoping we can raise enough money online for the Uber fare, otherwise me and the gang will have no choice but to camp out in school for shabbos. It’ll be kind of like a shabbaton, I suppose. Who knows, maybe it will be fun!”

If my child’s bus is 2 hours + in late coming home, why is the bus tracking not working, and why is there no answer at LSTA? Someone needs to be held accountable!

How does one initiate a State Oversight Authority Investigation?

Bus tracking?!

The internet is assur. You signed that form before we accepted your child.

Lakewood is total chaos. We need to clean house from top to bottom. Replace with people that actually care about the hamon am and can work with each other to improve our lives and stop adding to our misery from every angle. Its getting harder and harder for people to stay sane here.

Can we do a survey with the drivers to see why they’re quitting?? I would take a few guesses. what are we doing to help alleviate the issues that the drivers are facing?? Buildong more overcrowded developments???

Common sense

Rapid over-expansion and population growth beyond means strikes again. Such a small area isn’t meant to handle every family having 8 kids and the exponential growth that has occurred because of it.

Not so sure

I have an easier answer. MML is in Brookwood 1, as in 100% walkable. Accept every Brookwood 1 and 2 and surrounding area HS girl and voila no need for busing…

We didn’t have school bus when I went to school so why don’t the parents drive their kids to school?
