This is great!! It’s about time someone thought of it!
Awesome idea!!!!! But do they know that Route 88 is closed every night starting at 8:00PM?
Too noisy for parents tucking their children in.
Better idea ; pick up trash twice a week like they do in Brooklyn where property tax is a 1/3 of what it is in Lakewood
Better for traffic flow but will entail lots of overtime pay and increased taxes.
Voter; no need to pay overtime they give the employees different work hours. With flexible schedules. This way they need less trucks.
@ Joe Yeshivish. The taxes in Brooklyn are cheaper because you have 8-10 condos on 5000 square foot properties as opposed to the 1 house on at least 5000 sq. feet in Lakewood. In reality it’s more expensive in Brooklyn when you factor in the density.
Great idea in terms of convenience, but we are going to probably have to pay overtime for it. How about a different plan….
Driver_18, have you ever been to any development in town??
@ Pride Rite, have you been to Brooklyn?! I’m not sure how your question disproves my point.
@ Joe Yeshivish The taxes are lower in Brooklyn, because residents also pay New York City income tax of over 3.5%, which you don’t pay in NJ. With a lot of rich new Yorkers, that cuts dramatically the need for property tax. In addition, NY State collects higher taxes, and has many more businesses. They also have a higher sales tax.
Bottom line, the money got to be collected somehow. It’s just a different method, with some winners and some losers.
