Software and Web Development as a Parnassah: Q and A with Reuvain Levin

[COMMUNICATED] In anticipation of the seventh cohort of their successful Software and Web Development Course, PCS spoke to Reuvain Levin, course graduate.

Q: Please tell us about your current programing job. How did the PCS Software and Web Development Course prepare you for your career?

A:  I work as a Software Developer for Chefman.

I actually started out in the PCS Business Enrichment Course, as I was searching for a career that was suitable for me.

Through the BEC Course, and with recommendations from others, I discovered the PCS Software and Web Development Course, which gave me a very well-rounded knowledge of the core concepts of programming, as well as the confidence to be able to adapt to a rapidly evolving industry.

The teachers were extremely knowledgeable, experienced and patient, and the PCS staff as a whole was always looking out for each student to make sure we really understood the material and were advancing with the class.

Q: Is software and web development currently a lucrative field to enter?

A:    Technology is developing faster and faster every year, and is taking over more and more industries throughout the world. Software and Web Developers are the actual builders of technology. So yes, I believe this is a very lucrative field to enter with a lot of growth potential.

Q: For whom would you recommend this field?

A:   I’d recommend it for anyone that is focused, deep thinking and able to use his mind for hours on end to solve complex problems and puzzles. Advanced computer skills are not necessary- I had only very basic computer skills going into this course and I was still able to learn everything I needed to know to succeed in this field.

Q: Why is it important to receive proper training from industry experts before entering this field?

A:   It depends on how fast you want to expedite your career. A person can spend decades making mistakes and learning the hard way how to figure out the ins and outs of the industry. Alternatively, one can receive proper training from experts and come into the field well prepared.
