At 10am today, May 4, the Brick Township Police Department responded to the Ocean First Bank, located at 724 Brick Boulevard for a report of a skimming device that was placed on their ATM machine.
The investigation has revealed that between 2pm and 8pm on Saturday May 2nd, a subject placed a skimming device on the ATM at this bank location. This device is placed directly over the card reader of the machine, and in most cases matches the machine exactly, making it very hard to notice. Once on the machine, the device records the card numbers that are used in the machine. This information is then used to make fraudulent withdrawals from the customer’s accounts.
Many of the transactions that have occurred have been based in the New York City area. Ocean First Bank is working diligently to identify customers that may have been affected.
If you used this machine during this time frame, please monitor your accounts closely, and contact the Brick Township Police at 732-262-1100 if you notice any suspicious transactions.
If you were in the area of the Ocean First Bank on Saturday during this time frame, and believe that you may have witnessed anything suspicious, please contact Detective Robert Shepherd in the Brick Township Police Detective Bureau at 732-262-1121.
Attached are pictures of the type of device that the Brick Township Police believe was used on the machine.

These skimming devices are used at gas stations too. I learned the hard way, My business checking account was almost wiped clean like this. Luckily I checked after my debit card was declined. Use only cc at the gas stations. It took me weeks for the bank to compensate me and I was lucky they did.
