The thrill of seeing exotic animals from the comfort of your car, and cringing as they nuzzle your windshield, will come to an end next month.Six Flags Wild Safari announced today guests will no longer be allowed to drive through the park after Sept. 30.
“We are discontinuing allowing cars to drive through Wild Safari at the end of the 2012 season,” said company spokeswoman Kristin Siebeneicher.
Officials offered little comment, except to say a further announcement of “what is happening to the property” will include changes to other areas of the park as well.” Read more in Star Ledger.
WOW, going through the Safari was fun, I remember my Husband and kids went through, when my Husband came home he had the side mirror in his hand, one of the monkeys sat on it and when he jumped off he broke it. but they did have a great time. Of course replacing the mirror was the price of a ticket maybe more.
I guess they will have to walk through now…
Since they dropped the monkey part it hasn’t been nearly the same. The monkeys on the car were the best!
no i think they will offer bus rides in those small school bus type and now charge for it to make even more money.
I think they will sell all the animals and use the 350 acres to build condos.
i heard there building another parking lot for lakewood residents
And their complaining that there not making money well this way theyl make les
Elephant/ girrafs/ camel/ maybe even lion rides through the safari, that would be awesome!!!!!
Wow! Another stupid corporate decision.
The country is really that bad off that the execs want to take the monies used to operate the Safari for their income?
I wonder what the new announcements will entail in regards to what is more financially sound to the execs.
