Harav Yoikel was the youngest brother of the strizover rebbe’s.
He was such a nice, good hearted person, 32 years ago I fixed something for him for $25 and he only had $20 on him so I said $20 is fine, forget about the $5 , so a few weeks later R’ Yoikel shows up in the freezing cold weather and insists he pay me the $5.
He was always with a smile and b’simcha & always praised everyone, he never in his life spoke bad about any one.
Harav Yoikel had 3 older brother, 2 surviving brothers whom were diamond cutters for parnassah besides being Strizover Rebbe’s Moishe Leib & Herschel were also Rebbe’s in the Strizover Bais Medrash besides R’ Yoikel, I don’t know what R’yoikel worked by but he wasn’t wealthy in money, but he was extremely wealthy in Torah, he was a genius, he was a tremendous Talmud chochom. Before my bar mitzvah I davened with my father in Strizov and the people in the Shul used to praise Yoikel they used to say “ Yoikel ken guht lernin” , as a buchur and young man Yoikel learned in Torah Vadaas and other major yeshiva’s etc. few people knew how “big” Harav Yoikel Horowitz really was .
I never knew R’ Yoikel had daughters or granddaughters living in Tom’s River, R’ Yoikel had only 2 sons whom are Rabonnim today and more daughters.
Many righteous people are nifter during selichos.
