Severe Thunderstorm Warning, Flash Flood Warning in Effect

rt 9As reported earlier on our News Alerts (@lakewoodscoop), the National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and Flash Flood Warning which are both currently in effect.

The Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 6:15 PM, according to the latest message from NWS, and the Flood Warning until 10:15 PM.

Lakewood, and other area towns already saturated from yesterday’s rains, could see severe flooding.

The NWS is also warning of a lot of lightning, and warning residents that if you’re close enough to hear thunder, your close enough to be struck by lightning. Remain indoors‎ unless absolutely necessary.

Yesterday, many drivers failed to listed to the warnings and attempted to drive through deep waters, which resulted in severe and costly damage to their vehicles. [TLS]

  1. My modem got fried by lightning this afternoon. I heard the pop inside as lightning struck outside. I am using an old one now.
