A serious accident in Howell Township this morning left one driver seriously injured and another minor injuries.
According to the Howell Township Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 6:20 a.m. on US Highway 33 westbound.
A 2023 Dodge Ram pickup operated by a 38-year-old Beachwood resident sideswiped a 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by a 51-year-old Lakehurst resident. The pickup then rotated, crossed the centerline and struck a 2024 Ford F-250 head-on, which was being operated by a 59-year-old Brick resident.
The impact caused the F-250 to strike a guardrail and nearby utility pole.
The driver and sole occupant of the Dodge Ram was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured. The driver of the F-250 suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Responding agencies included Howell Police EMS, Atlantic Health Paramedics, Adelphia Fire Company, Taylor’s Towing, JL Automotive and NJ State DOT.
The crash remains under investigation by the Howell Township Police Department.
