As reported last month, the district will be holding a special meeting this evening to address the failed referendum, and steps to be taken.
“The Lakewood Board of Education will hold a special meeting on February 11, 2016 to discuss the failed referendum and next steps towards a solution to the transportation crisis,” the district announced last month.
The meeting will be held at 7:30 PM at the regular BOE meeting room at the High School.
As earlier reported, the $6,200,000 referendum was voted down by a landslide of about 98% to 2%.
Guest speakers will include the District Auditor, Board Counsel and the District’s Transportation Consultant.

The fact is that those who are eligible for bussing and are not receiving bussing are eligible for reimbursement.
But those of us who will be losing courtesy bussing will have to pay out of pocket.
It’s hard enough getting into a school, making sure it’s more than 2 miles is impossible.
