Readers’ Scoop: Please Use Logic At Emergency Scenes

mva madisonTLS Readers, I would like to just share my thoughts with you, which I found necessary to express. As you saw on the Lakewood Scoop yesterday, a car flipped over on Madison Avenue attracting much attention to many dozens of pedestrians and onlookers, including boys from BMG, mothers and children. And as a passerby, myself. I understand it’s “Exciting” to see a vehicle flipped over and all the lights and sirens etc. What bothered me about the scene however was all the onlookers trying to get ‘a closer look’ at the vehicle. First of all, where is the privacy? Someone has just gotten hurt. Please respect their privacy by keeping a distance. Secondly, can’t you see that the Police and Extrication Professionals, whether from Hatzalah or EMS, or Fire Department, are trying to cut a patient from a vehicle? Aside for the safety aspect of it, it disrupts their work. Just a thought.

Thank you TLS.

I educate my children to respect others privacy. But, I realize that sometimes curiosity still prevails.

To #4: If you go look at any pictures or videos of accidents that TLS brings, I don’t think you will EVER see the face of the people/injured.

bmg hqs if u watch the video the Lakewood EMS guy yelled for cribbing to be put in place.he did his job as a safety officer. he was at least smart enough to get it secured even though the extrication was started by Hatzolah prior his arrival…im glad to see that Hatzolah and Lakewood EMS work well together…through both departments the patient was removed safely.
