PSA: Recovered From Covid-19? Take It Easy For A Bit

Covid-19 recoverees, especially older ones, should probably get their hearts checked to make sure there is no lasting damage and that they can resume all activities without precautions.

There is increasing evidence that Covid-19 can affect not only the body’s respiratory system, but its cardiovascular system as well. Doctors have been reporting that they are seeing inflammation and scar damage in the hearts of some who have recovered from the coronavirus.

Therefore, doctors are encouraging those who have been sick for more than a few days to at least take a break before resuming vigorous activities.

Those who had symptoms for an extended period of time may also find it beneficial to get their heart checked out by a doctor to rule out any long-term risks to their health.
