Pre-Hurricane Sandy Anxiety Teleconference To Be Held At 9 PM

A pre-Hurricane Sandy Anxiety Teleconference will be held tonight. The event, hosted by Relief and presented by MSW LSW CASAC-T, Anxiety & Fear Specialist Binyomin Halpern, will discuss how to deal with your child’s – and your own – fear and anxiety before, during, and after the Hurricane.

You will learn how to:

Prepare your child for the upcoming storm so they are as ready as they can be, How to deal with your child’s fears of the upcoming storm successfully, What to say to calm your child when they are afraid, Teach your children the skills they need to successfully deal with the storm, to avoid any negative ramifications and how to have this storm be a learning experience to make them more resilient and empowered.

  1. We have to stop hyping these events to the point where we have created mass anxiety! It is rediculous already…kids are walking around repeating the things they heard from their friends parents and other adults etc. just stop! This forum may be great because now its needed…but how did we get to that point?!

  2. We need to start preparing the oilam for the very real possibility that Obama will win reelection, and the tzoros that klal yisroel will suffer as a result. you haven’t even seen real anxiety yet.

  3. Thank you Relief and R Halpern. I found the teleconference to be very informative and practical. It would be wonderful if Relief would host teleconfrences more often. There seems to be a great need for it. My family and neighbor were equally impressed.
