Over 2,000 Without Power In Lakewood

UPDATED 11:50PM: There are power outages being reported in several areas around Lakewood at this time. Areas affected are parts of Monmouth Avenue, Madison Avenue, Caranetta, Clifton Avenue, and Route 88.

According to JCPL, there are about 2,200 in Lakewood without electricity.

JCPL says, “JCP&L is experiencing power outages throughout our service area. Crews are working to restore power to all affected areas as quickly and safely as possible. It is expected the majority of customers should be restored by 12 PM on Friday July 27. If you have not yet reported your service as being out, please use the report an outage link or call 1-888-544-4877. If you are experiencing a life threatening emergency call 911. Remember to treat all downed wires as live and dangerous.”

UPDATE 11:45 PM. JCPL is now reporting close to 2,500 without electricity.

Committeeman Steven Langert tells TLS it’s important that all those without power immediately contact the above phone number, so that Lakewood is placed on priority.

It is an automated system, but by pressing ‘0’, you can be connected to an operator.

UPDATE 11:50 PM. JCPL is now reporting close to 3,000 without power in Lakewood.

Traffic lights at several intersections are out. Use caution.
