  1. This is absurd. There should have been some kind of stricter consequence implemented so that the other children do not think it is ok to do. I am reading multiple articles about this event and most of it is a lie. My son goes to that school and this is the first time I am hearing about it. I got a text, phone call and email about the delayed opening today but nothing about this incident. Lakewood Schools need to do a better job of communicating when there is a possible dangerous situatuion witih our children.

  2. Its absurd and asinine!! It is the dumbest thing I ever heard its like airport security because of political correctness they waste their time on old ladies instead of profiling for young middle eastern males A second grader is not a threat!! Get your priorities straight!!

  3. My daughter goes to that school and I haven’t heard about that either even though it says in article that they told everyone. I think all parents of the kids in the school should be notified if it was their class or not and that they should talk to all kids about it so they know what to do if it happens again. Jahmier how did you find out about the delay?

  4. I think the right thing to do is ban all kids from the schools. You never know, a kid could bring a gun and kill someone g-d forbid. All kids should be banned so that we can all sleep better at night knowing that we are protected from kids bringing guns to school.

  5. This is the most insane thing I have heard in a long time. I have a 4 year old son who is obsessed with anything guns-much to my consternation BUT it is the most normal thing in the world! Kids have a fascination with these things and that is fine. To take a child’s threat out of context so badly seems quite humorous to me. when my son gets mad at me he makes all sorts of threats… he’s angry and that is his way of showing he is frutrated. I think this was taken way too far and the people at the head should be busy with the real issues not such stupidities!

  6. yes u must make statement to all the children in the school that guns and threats of such are TOTALLY unacceptable. so in this case i agree to suspention bec of the princable not the point.

  7. A 4 or 5 yr should not be allowed to make threats about killing or guns even when frustrated. U have a real problem on your hands. I am a teacher, I do not allow the children to make guns or swords or anything violent with my toys. Teach ur kids that violence is NOT OK!!!!!!
