Police On The Lookout For Man Who Approached Young Children

lpd_car_4_tlsPolice are on the lookout for a suspicious man who reportedly approached young girls this afternoon. The incident occurred in the area of Arboretum Pkwy and Tuxedo Terrace, (14th Street area) where a man described as a white male driving a grey vehicle approached the children apparently asking for directions, and then drove off. Fearing he may be attempting to lure children into his car, a neighbor phoned the police.

In January, TLS reported a similar incident in the same area. It’s unknown if the incidents are related.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 732-363-0200. TLS-CCP/TLS-HK.

  1. Police are on the lookout for a man in a car that made eye contact with a child while waiting at a red light.

  2. you mean a NON-Jewish looking man, approached Jewish kids asking for directions.

-is that the underlying problem here?

  3. I stopped at a stop sign and waited too long to turn. There were kids on the corner….. I hope the police aren’t looking for me now!

  4. I heard he alegedly asked for directions. Please don’t say he actualy asked for directions until he is proven guilty of that crime in court

  5. there is nothing wrong with asking directions. the police should only be called in a situation like this if the driver was trying to get the kids in the car. maybe he is a pedophile and maybe he isn’t. we don’t know that for sure. it doesn’t sound like any harm was done. unless of course if that isn’t the whole story.

  6. They are just being cautious. Haven’t you ever heard of the saying, “Better safe than sorry?” You’re all ridiculous. Grow up!

  7. oh my!!!!!!!!! you must not have kids or maybe you do but you just dont like them!
if someone asked my kid – a kid isnt exactly someone who gives directions – i would calll the police as well
are we waiting for some terrible story and then feeling guilty because we could/shouldve/wouldve – well then well just blame the ladies and the tznius!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. I’ve heard of these incidents, and he is a repeated offender who is doing offensive things while asking for directions…………

  9. When’s the last time you asked a kid for directions?

Parents would NOT decided to call police if this was a valid looking man asking for direction, there was OBVIOUSLY something suspicious with the way he acted or looked at the girls to make the RESPONSIBLE parent call police.

Why wait till something happens. I cant believe the comments here. So immature.

And to the smart parent…thank you for being preventative.

  10. OMG the sky is falling again. a goy asked frum children for directions.
catch him and lock him up. how dare he speak to frum children.

  11. Usually if someone is asking children for directions, it’ll be an easy one like how do I get to Forest Avenue or back to route 9, or for a more complex situation, they’ll ask a child to find an adult to help them.

A simple directions request would not have warranted a call to the police – there must have been something suspicious about the questioner.

  12. I am a female driver, and yes, when there are only children I find outside, I have asked them for directions more complicated than getting to forest ave. The problem is the person asking was a non jewish man, and secondly, in today’s world we can trust noone. This mother however, sounds overly paranoid.
