Police: Child Bitten by Dog, Improving; Dog Likely to be Put Down

The condition of the child who was critically injured after being bitten by a family pet last Saturday evening, is improving, Detective Captain Paul Daly tells TLS.

Though the child’s condition was improving, the 11 month old had lost an ear due to the incident, Daly says.

The dog, believed to be either a pitbull or bulldog, is still being held at a facility, and will likely be put down, Daly says.

Maybe we can find e tent in tent city for the dog. It’s not fair to put down the dog. It should have been fed better.

Thank goodness the child is still alive otherwise it would have been a worse situation. People need to watch over their pets.

In my opinion it’s the parent’s fault not the dog. Who in their right mind would let their baby play on the floor with ANY dog while in another room??? Especially when the dog is eating, which was the case.

Thank you Lakewood Scoop for providing this updated information. There were some people telling lies about what happened, the truth is always nice to hear. Hope the child has a speedy recovery.

Is the child and the dog from the same family?

The priorities need to be straightened out here. I am a pet lover but never at the expense of a human…especially a child. We are supposed to protect our children first, and any animal who attacks a person will attack again. The animal should be put down. It has proven that it cannot be trusted.

The dog was the child’s grandparents’ pet.
