A small aircraft collided with birds over Lakewood on Friday night, TLS has learned.
According to information obtained by TLS, Newark Air Traffic notified authorities that a distress signal was being picked up over Lakewood Airport.
Emergency personnel responded and located the small plane on the ground in Lakewood Airport following a safe landing, with minor damage to the windshield.
Airport officials tell TLS the pilot was not injured, and the plane was placed back into service.
Any info on the bird’s condition?
Emergency personnel reportedly told reporters that they are not releasing any information about the birds’ status without prior consent from the birds.
However, a bird by the name of ‘Larry’ – who happens to be a close friend of one of the birds involved in the collision – told reporters on Saturday that all of the birds are in excellent condition, except for one bird, who lost several feathers during the smash-up and also suffered a mild panick attack.
However, Larry also told reporters that the aforementioned bird was released from the veterinary ward this evening, and is currently chowing down a delicious meal of worms with his family and friends in his newly-built, three bedroom nest.
