With the Lieutenant Governor and Jewish community leaders at his side, Senate President Steve Sweeney lit the Menorah at the Statehouse Tuesday evening in honor of the first day of Chanukah.

“On this first night of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, I want to wish all my friends in the Jewish community a ‘Chag Sameach’ (Happy Holiday),” Sweeney said. “The holiday season is a time for renewing faith, preserving tradition, and spending time with loved ones. May all of my friends in the Jewish community share in the spirit of the holidays, in hope and in peace.”
