A pedestrian has been hospitalized in Lakewood this evening after being struck by a vehicle and pinned under the tire.

The patient left her vehicle to unload groceries but neglected to put the car in park.

A neighbor, who witnessed what was happening, jumped inside and stopped the car.

Chaveirim was called to help lift the vehicle.

The patient was transported by Hatzolah to Jersey Shore Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating.
