Photos: PBA Local 71 President Keeping Downtown Pedestrians Cool

PHOTOS: If you’re walking around downtown today, you may get stopped by the PBA Local 71 President Gary Przewoznik. But not necessarily for a violation. Equipped with a cooler in his car, the PBA President has been handing out waterbottles all morning in an effort to keep pedestrians hydrated on this nearly record hot Summer day.

“We’re just doing our part to keep people cool and hydrated in this heat wave”, Przewoznik says.

Przewoznik is also making his way around to various constructions jobs, ensuring the officers assigned to road jobs are properly hydrated.

Temperatures today are expected to reach about 100 degrees. TLS.

  1. Check out Gary & Guzman giving water out!
    Good job guys!
Now THIS is what emergency workers are paid for by the people. To HELP!

  2. Its amazing you guys are saying nice things about these officers now just wait until they pull you over.

if the police pull me over, i have ZERO issues with that. i dont criticize cops for doing so, thats their job, and i respect that. its not easy standing on the side of the road in the rain, while trucks wiz past. I fully understand that its not an easy job- and salute them for risking their lives to protect those like my mother, wife, sister(those who cant protect themselves from criminals)

Its those that have attitudes, are verbally abusive, those that treat people like we are all criminals – is when i have a problem. Dont berate me on my tinted windows, no front plate – like its personally insulting. The State Police are KNOWN for acting like (moderated) soldiers. Plenty police dept’s have their officers that enjoy talking down to average citizens.
They act like pushy lawyers – twisting your words around, wont let you speak, expect to be called OFFICER, and then call people by their first names/man/guy/dude/bro/etc. To those officers i say: Enjoy your moment getting to know me & me car & whats inside, write me a ticket, smile, be polite and we can both wish each other a good day.

(i have personally seen state troopers berate off-duty local police officers on their driving skills, and or condition of their vehicles.)
I have done way to much for my country, and my local community to be berated.

  5. I don’t believe this! The police are doing a nice thing and you can sit and type up this whole long disgusting letter about them! Why can’t you just say thank you for the care instead of this letter?
If you have something bad to say…. speak 2 the walls…. not 2 other humans who have the Hakaras Hatov!

  6. Maybe if people put there phones down and stopped running red lights or left there kids in hot cars… they wouldn’t be so stressed at stops.
