As earlier reported on our news alerts, one person was killed and several others were injured in an accident on the Garden State Parkway this monring, NJSP Sgt. Gregory Williams tells TLS.
At about 6:55 AM, the Ford F150 was traveling in the southbound lanes of the Parkway near mile marker 110.8 in Middletown, when for unknown reasons the vehicle lost control and flipped over the median, Sgt. Williams says. The vehicle came to rest in the northbound lanes.
Two people were ejected from the vehicle, and one person was pronounced dead at the scene, Williams says. Another passenger remained in the vehicle and was also injured.
“The vehicle looked badly burned,” a passerby told TLS.
The injured were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, Williams said.
As of 10:00 AM, NJSP investigators were still at the crash scene.
