PHOTOS: Ocean County EMS Crews Train To Treat And Transport Patients With Contagious Diseases

EMS crews practiced using protective gear and a patient isolation pod during the Ocean County Special Pathogens Response Team’s quarterly training.

The session focused on safely treating and transporting patients with highly contagious infectious diseases, according to posts shared by Ocean County EMS Coordinators and Jackson Township EMS. The county post also tagged Manchester Division of Emergency Services and Lakewood Township EMS.

Responders practiced putting on and removing personal protective equipment, setting up and operating the IsoPod patient isolation system, and improving communication and coordination during patient care and transport.

Photos shared by Jackson Township EMS show crews working around the isolation pod, trying protective hoods and moving equipment on a stairway.
