After nearly thirty years of service, Ocean County Deputy Fire Marshal Billy Gee has retired.
Gee, pictured center, was well respected in the communities he served, and was well known in Lakewood for his presence at the Chometz burning and Lag Ba’omer fires around town.
The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department released the following statement:
“In the past thirty plus years Fire Marshall Gee investigated numerous fires and other hazardous matters. Fire Marshall Gee was involved in the aftermath of September 11, 2001 and worked numerous hours during Super Storm Sandy. On behalf of Sheriff Michael Mastronardy and the entire staff we wish him well in the next chapter of his life. We will miss you Car 50!”
We wish Fire Marshal Gee good luck in his future endeavors.
