A delegation of New Jersey law enforcement leaders and rabbinic chaplains took part in the International March of the Living in Auschwitz, Poland, joining more than 7,000 participants in what organizers described as the largest-ever gathering of its kind.
Among those representing New Jersey were NJSP Superintendent Jeanne Hengemuhle, Lt. Colonel Sean Kilcomons, NJ State PBA President Peter Andreyev, and NJ State PBA Executive VP Michael Freeman. Also in attendance, was Port Authority Superintendent Edward Cetnar, Port Authority inspector Scot Pomerantz, and Mercer County Sheriff Marek Bloch.
The delegation included members of the New Jersey State Police, Port Authority Police Department, as well as numerous county and municipal law enforcement agencies across the state.
Participants marched through Auschwitz as part of the annual event, which commemorates the victims of the Holocaust and promotes remembrance and education.
Members of the New Jersey delegation were recognized by fellow participants along the route, many of whom expressed appreciation and gratitude for their presence and solidarity at the historic event.
