PHOTOS: Multiple people injured in multi-vehicle accident on Pine Street

2016-10-31-photo-00004393At least three patients were hospitalized following an accident which occurred at the entrance to Somerset Walk about 8 AM this morning, as reported on our news alerts.

Three vehicles were involved in the accident.

Patients were transported by Hatzolah and Lakewood First Aid. At least one was reportedly seriously injured.

The road reopened about 9 AM.

  1. Notice the speed limit sign in the backround!The speed limit has to be lowered from 45 to 30 or so. It was originally 45 when there were no developments in the area.

  2. Chaya- I don’t think speed had anything to do with this. I must have just missed the accident since I was right down Pine Street at that time and saw Hatzolah on their way there, but I can tell you the extreme glare from the sun on that stretch at that time made it extremely hard to see oncoming westbound traffic. I would bet sun glare was a major factor in this. May all involved have a speedy and complete recovery.

  3. Agreed. I was on Oak this morning at that time, driving toward New Hampshire. Even with a crystal clean windscreen it was almost impossible to see due the extreme glare.

  4. Will agree with some other posters. The sun glare was really bad this morning. But people do need to take that into account, slow down and stop driving so close to each other.
