Several members of the Lakewood Fire Department recently completed a Rope Rescue Technician training course presented by Safety and Survival Training at the Toms River Fire Academy, further enhancing the department’s technical rescue capabilities. During the course, the firefighters learned to build and operate a variety of rope rescue systems used in both high-angle and low-angle rescue operations, preparing them for challenging rescue situations.

Officials said the specialized training helps ensure firefighters are equipped to respond safely and effectively during technical rescue incidents. The department added that its members regularly participate in advanced training opportunities to expand their skills and remain prepared to meet the evolving needs of the Lakewood community.
