Nearly $400,000 was raised by some 300 runners during yesterday’s 4th annual Jog-a-thon, benefitting the Special Children’s Center.
Winning the children’s race of 1 mile with approximately 130 participants, was Mordechai Akerman, son of Deputy Mayor Albert Akerman. Mordechai received a trophy for his win.
The winner of the adult run, which featured a 5 kilometer run and included about 200 runners, was Avi Assouline. He won a trophy, and a two year car lease from Icar.
Following the races, the participants were treated to an all-out buffet.

Wow. A beautiful event. As a parent of a special needs child who benefits a lot, like, a LOT, over the year from the Center, I’d like to thank everyone who ran, raised funds or helped in any way for the success of the day. I think I speak for all parents of Special Children in expressing my appreciation for all you’ve done for the benefit of this precious institution. Thank you so much for everything and may this good deed tip ur scale so that you and ur family are inscribed for a happy, healthy & prosperous new year !!
Good Job Uvi! Great job!
