Two Lakewood Police Officers in separate police vehicle were hospitalized last night after crashing into each other, officials said.
At around 10 PM, the officers were reportedly driving one in front of another along New Hampshire Avenue near Salem Street, when the officer in the rear slammed into the front vehicle, an official said.
The officer in the pictured vehicle suffered minor injuries, possibly related to the airbag deployment, and the other officer suffered from neck pain, the official said. Both were transported to MMCSC, and released a couple of hours later.
The accident is under investigation.

Wishing to officer well.
Oh no, that is aweful. I hope they are okay.
Wow i feel sorry for them. I just have a little food for thought. It has been recently that i passed many police officers as they were driving on the road while on their phones. Now i understand that they have some rights to do things we cannot do. However, talking on a cell is a safety issue for him and us. Why are they able to get away with this?????? We dont another accident like this to happen in order to put this in law. It really bothers me!!!!!!
That’s 2 Explorers down, 7 to go.
