PHOTOS: Thousands without power after accident takes down pole and wires in Lakewood’s Industrial Park

Thousands of residents and Lakewood are without power this afternoon following an accident which took out a pole and wires.

The accident happened approximately 1:00 PM on Oberlin Avenue.

Multiple schools and businesses are out of power as a result.

It could take several hours for power to be restored.

  1. Im surprised these mosdos don’t have back up generators . First off ,its thousands of hours of torah that could have been lost today besides the traffic nightmare it caused . Especially the Lakewood cheder has two chasuna halls and they can’t afford lose power during wedding . Also in case of emergency .Their phone lines were down today and possibly their security cameras . Hashem should keep them safe but these are our children and they shouldn’t be Chas shalom left without heat or phone lines in case of an emergency

  2. give me a break, back in the old country 1,000 bochurim would huddle together with the light of a single candle and shteig like the rishonim! Kids today have it too easy!
