A section of Route 9 southbound is shut after an oil spill caused by a 3-vehicle crash, police confirm.
The crash occurred shortly after noon, at the intersection of Route 9 and Central Avenue, police say. As a result of the accident, oil spilled down the southbound lane, stretching for at least a mile, according to an official.
The southbound lanes are shut at Central Avenue as the State road department places sand on the spill.
