Nine firefighters from Lakewood are among a group of 30 volunteer firefighters from around the County who graduated the Ocean County Fire Academy Thursday evening.
After about six months of intense training and completed final exams, the volunteers have become full-fledged firefighters, ready to risk their lives for their respective communities.
From Lakewood, the following nine men graduated: Station 64: Motti Moerman, Ovaid Battat, Boruch Lang and Hillel Kaluszyner; Station 65: Nelson Carver and Eddie Romanchik; Station 66: Avrumi Mutterperl; Station 67: Leiby Friedman; Station 68: Shlolmo Cochavi.
The graduation took place in Waretown, NJ.
