A man was charged after a Lakewood Hatzolah member witnessed him breaking into a vehicle, and chased him down.
At about 11:15 PM, the Hatzolah member witnessed a man breaking into his neighbors vehicle, and immediately notified the dispatcher to phone police.
The Hatzolah member followed the man until police arrived. By this time, the suspect had run into a home on Lanes Mill Road.
Officer Kearns spoke with the man, however, despite the rain outside, the man appeared dry and did not match the clothing description originally given by the witness.
Further investigation by Detective Chase Messer revealed that the man had in fact had the opportunity to change his clothes prior to Officer Kearns’ arrival.
“As a result, the man identified as 46 yr old Kariem Kendall of Lakewood, was charged with burglary and theft,” Detective Liutenant Greg Staffordamith said. “A warrant has been issued for his arrest.”
