A driver in Lakewood allegedly overdosed on drugs behind the wheel and crashed, officials say.

Shortly after 2 PM, police and EMS responded to an accident on River Avenue, and upon arrival found the driver unconscious from an apparent drug overdose, and crashed into a vehicle driving in the opposite direction.

A passerby told TLS he saw a needle exposed near the driver’s seat.

Emergency personnel administered Narcan to revive the driver, before transporting him to MMCSC.
