PHOTO: Accident Takes Out Traffic Light in Lakewood

The accident happened approximately 12:30 PM at the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and Forest Avenue.

No serious injuries were reported.

Avoid the area for several hours as the repairs are made.

  1. PUBLIC NOTICE: If you are a professional AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENTER planning to move to Lakewood… PLEASE DON’T! Our town is already home to too many of you, and even though you might receive satisfaction having your accident widely publicized, in truth it will only get lost in this already overcrowded field. (Now, if you’d like to try skydiving here, little competition will surely guarantee you an exclusive spotlight for your talent).

  2. It’s time to tell our elected officials to stop allowing more light poles to be put up in Lakewood. There are too many poles already and they are constantly involved in accidents.

  3. Glad to see that the breakaway light pole design was effective in reducing injuries. One can imagine a different design could have transformed this mostly safe accident into a messy accident.
