We regret to inform you of the Petirah of Rabbi Yeruchem Septimus Z”L, longtime Halacha Rebbe in Bais Kayla, Lakewood, who was Niftar after Ne’ilah tonight following a prolonged illness. He was 79 years old.
The Levaya (brief) is scheduled to take place at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, Motzei Yom Kippur, at the Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue, Lakewood. Kevurah in Lakewood.

BDE. He was an incredible person who taught with passion and compassion.
It is listed that he was the principal, correction, he was a Halacha Rebbe in Bais Kaila.
He was my Chumash Rebbe in mesivta, with incredible knowledge and clarity. He will be missed.
He did a lot of Chessed with many people in a quiet way.
Harav Osher Chaim Lieberman said in today’s drasha before N’eela : Like R’ Ella Svei once said “we made through another Yom Kipper” , I’m sure that he included his long time chushiver mispalel R’ Yeruchem Septimus a”h whom actually made it through this Yom kipper to the exact minute.
Besides being a genius, a gadol R’ Yeruchem he was a very clean, organized person; by a kiddish in shul I was eating messy cake, he told me to use a fork. He used to learn for hours on Motzoi Shabbos & before he left he used to spray the shuls door handles with Lysol spray for the olam. Was a very special person.

Rabbi Septimus was my Halacha Rebbi in Bais Kaila over 30 years ago. He taught us Halacha in such an enjoyable and clear way. He gave us a strong foundation in the halachos that continues to guide me until this day.
