A 24-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing Brick Boulevard in Brick late Saturday night, officials say.

Emergency personnel responded to Brick Boulevard and North Lake Shore Drive at approximately 11:30 p.m. on October 24th and found the pedestrian in the roadway with fatal injuries.

An initial investigation determined that the man was crossing Brick Boulevard when he was struck by a southbound Ford Taurus. The driver continued a short distance before pulling over and walking back to the scene.

The pedestrian has not been publicly identified.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad, Brick Police Department, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office.
