Over 500 Without Power in Lakewood

UPDATED: Between 500-1,500 are without power in Lakewood this afternoon, according to JCP&L. The electric company says the cause is due to severe weather.

Outages are being reported in the area of East 4th Street, Ridge Avenue, Cottage PlaceĀ and East 7th Street areas.

No estimated time was given for restoration.

UPDATE 6:55 PM: Power to most of the above areas has been restored, though there are reports of outages in the south part of town.

  1. Well, wadya expect? The two-mule team that get the windmill to turn which powers the electricity in Lakewood dropped from heat exhaustion! They are shipping in Klysdales from Anheiser-Busch country and that will keep the windmills turning for a bit longer.

    do they mean the heat

    last week on shabbas the weather was beautiful and we lost power 3 times.
    seems to be happening at least once a week if not more
