[UPDATED 8:50 PM] Over 2,500 JCP&L customer in Lakewood are without power this evening, partially possibly due to an overturned vehicle that took out power lines.
The accident occurred at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Oberlin Avenue around 8 PM, as reported on our news alerts (@LakewooScoop).
The accident split a utility pole and took down live wires, officials said.
Residents in the area of Pine Street, and Cedarbridge Avenue have reported loss of power, as well as residents in the Ridge Avenue area.
Several traffic lights in the area are out as well.
We also received reports of people stuck in an elevator in Washington Square due to the outage.
JCP&L gave an estimated restoration time of 10:30 PM.
