Over $1,250,000 has already been raised for the families of the Kedoshim killed in the Har Nof massacre, Ira Zlotowitz told TLS today.
Which means, after $1.1 million matched, the families will be receiving over $2,350,000.
Amazingly, says Ira, over 85% of the approximately 5,000 donations consisted of donations of less than $250, and more than half of those were donations of less than $100.
“That’s the Koyach of the Tzibur in a campaign,” Ira says.
In addition, a fund has been set up to help the family of Druze Officer Zidan Seif, the police officer killed while attempting to fight off the attackers.
Originally, the family declined to take donations, but after visiting the Shul and again being asked if they would accept help, they agreed. In response, www.harnofhero.com was opened to directly assist the Seif family. (The fund for the Kedoshim can found here).
“He had no idea what he was up against, but in the heat and shock of the moment, he entered the Shul and defended his fellow citizens,” the site about Seif reads. “He was massacred by the two Palestinian terrorists who invaded these Rabbis’ right to freedom of religion…While we cannot bring back their heroic father, we must help them in any way we can.”
“The campaign has not stopped,” says Ira. “We will continue to pass on the donations as they come in.”
