Old Lakewood Fire House Sold at Auction

fire house clover tlsThe old Lakewood fire house on Clover Street sold this morning at a public auction.

The fire house, owned by the Board of Fire Commissioners, was sold to a neighboring property owner for $925,000.

The house was the former home to Engine Company 2, but with today’s fire trucks too large for the house, it was recently used by the Fire Police, and former Haz-Mat team. The Fire Police moved to Hook & Ladder Station 68.

Commissioner David Mizrahi says the funds from the sale will go towards next year’s budget, and can be used for a number of items including equipment, salaries and more.

The property is approximately one acre in size.
