O.C. Sheriff’s Department: Emergency Lines Are For Emergeny Calls Only

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department asks that residents do not call 9-1-1 or the Office of Emergency Management unless it is an actual emergency. “Our switchboards are overwhelmed and it may be difficult to respond to actual emergency calls if this continues,” said Chief Michael G. Osborn of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.

Updated information on evacuations, shelters and other storm-related activities is available on the county and local municipal websites or by calling non-emergency numbers.
