Provident scam warningPHOTO: The Office of the Ocean County Prosecutor and officials of the Provident Bank are warning New Jersey residents of an alleged scam being perpetrated by Foreclosure Fraud Prevention, 1 Bridge Plaza, Fort Lee, NJ.

Recently Provident Bank received information from a Brick, New Jersey resident who received the attached “Foreclosure Final Notice Letter”. Bank officials quickly advised the resident that the notice was false and that Provident bank had no relationship with the sender. Protect yourself and never accept anything as true without doing your homework. Anyone in the Ocean County area who has received the attached notice should contact the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-929-2027 or Provident Bank officials at 732-590-9200.

  1. Both phone numbers are Google phone numbers provided to subscribers so they can hide without being traced. The 973 line is still being answered by a Spanish speaking man. The 201 line states that the person is no longer accepting calls at this time.

I’m sure that law enforcement has the tools to subpoena google for the information to track down the perpetrators. Unfortunately, many times they don’t even bother to follow up and these crooks will strike again and again. So sad…
