Don’t expect to be able to drive around with one of these vehicles on Purim. In fact, prepare for messy and heavily congested roads this Purim due to the pending inclement weather.
According to the National Weather Service, Lakewood could get in the area of six inches of snow between Wednesday night and Thursday.
See the graph below:
i am going to return all my shalach monos. instead i am trading it for bottles of wine. it seems i will be home with my family (the way purim should be) instead of being in the car for five hours navigating all the traffic jams to deliver shaloch monos to my kids morahs mother in law who is only accepting the shaloch monos between 10:48 and 12:22!
i really think ppl dont realize what is coming, were gonna get atleast 6 inches with the latest weather models coming in now. its going to be really really dangerous on purim, i will be delivering my mishloach manos 2morrow except for neighbors i will be doing on purim. i think many ppl will have no choice and will have to do this also
Gabi awesome comment! I got a good laugh:)
yea ill be making a run for an extra bottle of vodka and just dance the day away at home, i wont participate in traffic jams
I think you are being a selfish parent.
Do you know how it builds the self esteem of a child to see how you sit in traffic, navigate pot holes slip on unpaved and unsalted streets, get cut off,sit patiently by all the four way stops signs waiting your turn, all the while you act as a calm parent when your kids starving and throwing food at each other because they can deal with it any longer.
That is the best opportunity to teach your children how to act.
Don’t make light of it!
Actually just about every computer weather model is now showing between 8 and 14 inches for Lakewood. I think we will just switch our shalach manos list and deliver to all our immediate neighbors.
Maybe another fake blizzard?!
Oy vey, I will finally have to give something to my shleppy neighbors… and get back their homemade slightly-burned sugar’free brownies and freshly diluted filtered orange juice wrapped in secondhand Shoprite bags, instead of going over to my former chavrusa’s wealthy ex-father-in-law on the other side of town who would give back late harvest riesling and Black Muscat with chocolate cream filled truffles in a silver basket….
But can one say טוב שכן קרוב מאח רחוק…. now I know what that means…. And the neighbors who put up the mother-in-law for a simcha deserve a shalach manos anyway even if they are not Knakkes
