Notice: Deadline to Purchase Blintzes for Shavuos is May 21st, Daytime
The ‘NJ Association For Cheese Blintz Consumption’ announced on Tuesday that, “The deadline to purchase blintzes for the Shavuos holiday is May 21, 2026, daytime hours.”
In a statement issued on Twitter, the NJ Association added that, “Blintzes will be sold on a first come, first served basis” and that “sour cream and apple sauce will be sold separately.”
Shavuos celebrants are also advised “to take it easy on the cheese blintz consumption, and not to stuff themselves, as this can induce a state of extreme sleepiness, which can be detrimental to those who plan on learning extra hours over the holiday.”
“Cheese blintzes have been known to cause drowsiness in both humans and mice,” said Dr. Stan Dozeoff, a renowned expert in the field of ‘Wakefulness and hyper-consciousness’. “Hence, those who wish to stay awake on Shavuos should minimize their cheese blintz/cheese cake consumption and drink lots of coffee or coca-cola.”
“Make sure to sit upright at all times during the holiday,” he added, “and try to avoid leaning backwards or forwards, as these sitting positions can induce a strong desire for deep, relaxing sleep and a comfortable bed.”
