New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill is accusing President Donald Trump of attempting to “rig elections” following a Supreme Court decision blocking the Trump administration from implementing new restrictions on mail-in ballots ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the administration’s request to put a new U.S. Postal Service rule into effect. The rule would have required states to use specific ballot envelopes and provide voter information to the Postal Service before ballots could be delivered. The Court said the government was unlikely to succeed in its challenge to a lower court injunction blocking the rule.
In a statement following the ruling, Sherrill said, “States run elections, not Donald Trump,” adding that the decision reinforces what she described as the safety and reliability of voting by mail.
“Our Founding Fathers understood the danger of putting too much power in the hands of one person,” Sherrill said. “They built a Constitution that gives the states the authority to administer elections for a reason.”
She then directly accused Trump of attempting to interfere with the election process.
“This is another win for New Jersey voters and another loss for Donald Trump’s attempt to rig elections,” Sherrill said.
The Trump administration has argued that the mail-ballot changes are intended to address election integrity concerns. The rule was challenged by a coalition of states, including New Jersey, which argued that the federal government was improperly interfering with states’ authority over elections.

Defense Attorney Accuses Robbery Victims of Attempting to Infringe Upon Robbers’ Livelihoods After Judge Rules that the “Freedom to Rob is Inscribed in the Constitution”
NJ Defense attorney, Rick Shrewdster, accused robbery victims all across the country of attempting to infinge upon the livelihoods of thousands of robbers nationwide. The defense attorney’s accusation followed a judge’s decision on Monday that blocked the victims and their legal representatives from implementing new restrictions on home burglaries and residential break-ins.
A Federal Judge on Monday rejected a request from the robbery victims and their legal teams to put a new law into effect that would require thieves to knock on their victims’ doors, identify themselves and discard all dangerous weapons before entering a strange home.
In a statement following the Judge’s ruling, the robbers’ defense attorney asserted that, “Robbery etiquette is defined by the robbers and the robber community, not by a hoard of amateur victims and their legal teams who’ve never robbed a home even once in their entire lives!”
Mr. Shrewdster added that, “The Judge’s ruling reinforces the safety and reliability of residential break-ins!”
“Our founding fathers understood the danger of putting too much power into the hands of one particular class of society, namely the victims and their legal teams,” the defense attorney went on to say. “They built a constitution that gives the robbers the authority to define proper home-visiting etiquette, whether that involves climbing through a window or breaking down a door.”
Conversely, the defense attorney argued that. “Changes to the rules of entering a home are needed to protect homeowners from losing just about everything they have.”
