NJ MVC Mobile Unit Coming to Howell

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) Mobile Unit will be at the Howell Police Department, located at 300 Old Tavern Road, on Thursday, August 27, offering residents access to several MVC services.

The mobile unit will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Appointments are required for the following services:

  • REAL ID
  • Registration renewal
  • E-bike registration
  • Initial permit — tests are not given at the Mobile Unit
  • Non-driver ID
  • Duplicate/replacement title or registration

Appointments can be scheduled online through the NJMVC Mobile Unit appointment portal.

The following services do not require an appointment. Residents can simply walk up to the Mobile Unit:

  • Surrendering license plates
  • Handicapped, Veterans, or Purple Heart placards
  • Purchasing red GDL decals

Residents are advised to review the appointment requirements and available services before arriving.
