New Poll Shows Governor Murphy’s Approval Rating At 44% In New Jersey

Almost midway through his second and final term in office, a new poll released this morning shows New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy with a 44% approval rating in the state.

The poll, conducted by Fairleigh Dickinson University, also showed that 39% of residents disapprove of the job Murphy is doing as governor, with Republicans the least inclined to approve, with just 14% saying he is doing a good job, while 77% said they disapprove.

Among independents, Murphy is at 40%-42%; but is very popular with Democrats, with 75% approving and just 9% disapproving.

The poll was conducted between April 28 and May 6 with a sample size of 716 adult New Jersey residents and had a margin of error at +/- 3.5%.
